At Youth Home, the safety and well-being of the young people in our care is always our top priority. That's why we're thrilled to share some exciting news: the Windgate Foundation has awarded us a $100,000 matching grant to help install emergency backup generators across our campus. We are incredibly grateful for their generosity and belief in our mission to serve Arkansas's most vulnerable youth.

This means every dollar you give—up to $100,000—will be matched dollar-for-dollar, effectively doubling your impact and unlocking a total of $200,000 for this critical project.

Why Emergency Generators Matter

Youth Home serves adolescents ages 10 to 17 who are facing severe mental health challenges and traumatic histories. Our 52-acre campus in Little Rock is home to seven residential treatment facilities where young people receive round-the-clock psychiatric care.

Our semi-rural location, while peaceful and therapeutic, makes us vulnerable to frequent and extended power outages. Downed trees, damaged power lines, and delayed utility response during Arkansas's year-round severe weather events can leave our campus without electricity for hours—or even days.

When the power goes out, we face serious challenges:

  • Medication and food storage become compromised
  • Therapeutic routines are disrupted
  • Security and communication systems go offline
  • Climate control fails, creating unsafe conditions in extreme heat or cold

For the vulnerable young people in our care, these disruptions can be more than inconvenient—they can be dangerous and destabilizing.

The Solution

We're working to install emergency backup generators for all seven residential treatment homes on our campus. Each generator will provide power for essential systems including security, communication, medical equipment, and climate control.

  • Total project cost: $217,517
  • Windgate Foundation match: $100,000
  • Amount we need to raise: $100,000+

How You Can Help

Thanks to Windgate Foundation's generous matching grant, your contribution will go twice as far. A gift of $50 becomes $100. A gift of $500 becomes $1,000. And together, we can reach our goal of ensuring uninterrupted care for every young person on our campus.

Donate to power up Youth Home today!

The matching period runs through December 2026, but we encourage you to give today. The sooner we reach our goal, the sooner we can protect our youth from the next severe weather event.

Thank You, Windgate Foundation

We are deeply grateful to the Windgate Foundation for believing in our mission and offering this generous matching opportunity. Their commitment to Arkansas nonprofits and the communities they serve makes transformative projects like this possible. This partnership reflects their dedication to strengthening organizations that care for our state's most vulnerable residents, and we are honored to have their support.

Sixty Years of Impact—and a Bold New Chapter Ahead 2026 marks a meaningful milestone for Youth Home: six decades of service, healing, and hope. What started as one Social Worker's dream, has grown into an organization that has touched countless lives and families across the country and beyond. That growth did not happen by accident - it happened because people like you chose to invest in something bigger than themselves. As we celebrate this milestone, we are reminded of the people who have been a part of this journey, from the individuals and families we have served to the staff and volunteers who show up with compassion, and each community partner who believe in our mission. Introducing SpeakEasy: Where Fun Meets Purpose We're thrilled to announce the launch of our newest signature event, SpeakEasy , debuting on May 2, 2026 to kick off Mental Health Awareness Month. SpeakEasy represents everything we want our next chapter to be: joyful, connected, and deeply purposeful. This annual gathering will bring our community together for an evening that proves philanthropy and celebration go hand in hand. We can't wait to share more details in the coming weeks, but mark your calendars—you won't want to miss this innovative evening. A Fresh Look for a New Era A milestone like this offers the opportunity to refresh our brand by embracing our future while honoring our roots. We are working to bring you a completely reimagined website experience, with new visuals and refined messaging that reflects Youth Home's 60-year legacy and the bold work that lies ahead. We are too excited to keep it all under wraps, so expect to see changes in the months to come!
