My family  I had the good fortune of being referred to Youth Home for our son in relation to his mental health issues. I believe that I can speak for my son when I say that apprehensive was a very mild description of how he was feeling prior to his stay.

Angry, alienated, and resentful were among the more appropriate adjectives that he would probably have used to describe his feelings.

The team at Youth Home, in conjunction with his mother and myself, were initially concerned that our son may have a difficult go with their program because of distance from home, previous in-patient failures, and his overall attitude.

Our in-take visit was tough on everyone, no one wants to leave their child in the company of strangers, his mother and I were no exception. The folks at Youth Home astutely recognized this and incorporated daily phone calls into our care plan which made all the difference to us.

As time passed, we could gradually see a change in our son’s demeanor and attitude. He began to see past the anger and toward a future full of promise, one which his mother and I are very grateful for, and one which was facilitated by the Youth Home experience.

This group of dedicated professionals have truly made a difference in mine and my family’s lives. It is without reservation that I whole-heartily recommend Youth Home!
