Up, up, and away with Youth Home!
Announcing the second annual “Youth Home Hero Hustle—Relay for Hope!” This five person co-ed costumed team relay will take place at 2p.m. on October 15th at the Big Dam Bridge in Little Rock, AR and will consist of 40 teams making their way back and forth across the landmark bridge. All proceeds from this exciting event will benefit the children of Youth Home. Youth Home’s mission is to help emotionally troubled adolescents and families become healthier contributing members of the community.
This “fun run” style relay is intended for runners of all levels and ages and participants will be encouraged to run as their favorite super hero either real, imagined, or from comic books because anyone can be a hero when they help the children of Youth Home. To add to the event, on each side of the bridge, activities will be set up for runners and spectators. It should be a great time! The Party Machine, Wild Joe King will again be there cranking the tunes!
Teams will begin by stationing runners on either end of the bridge. Once the relay begins, a runner from each team will cross the bridge and hand the baton to an awaiting team member who will then cross back over the bridge and hand off the baton to another teammate. This will continue until each team completes 16 one way trips across the bridge. The first runner will cross the bridge 4 times including the first and the last leg. The other runners will run the bridge 3 times each. Teams will be release in timed increments to limit congestion and the winning team will be determined by best time.
Prizes will be awarded for best team time, best team costume, and best individual costume. It will be a very fun and unique event in Little Rock and your involvement would be a great way to show that you are involved in changing lives and saving families.
The cost per 5 person team is $125 and that is a tax deductible donation! Space is limited to the first 40 teams who register and pay for registration.
